Meet Dana!
Her passion? Spreading awareness and education about the importance of dental health.
Dana is the owner of Healthy Beginnings, LLC. With her team of professionals, she goes into early learning classrooms and teaches the importance of developing positive dental hygiene habits. They make learning about teeth fun and engaging, so it doesn’t even feel like learning or something the kids “have” to do. The activities ranged from viewing x-rays of teeth to giving their stuffed animals dental exams, to creating tooth centered art projects.
I’ll just say: if it was this much fun for me to learn about health related topics as a kid I probably would have developed healthier habits a lot earlier!
When we originally talked about working together, she was supposed to come to one of my group branding sessions. Then, as sometimes happens, the location we were holding it at had some scheduling issues and I had to cancel the session.
Collaborating with other creators
Dana and I stayed in contact and had conversations about her vision for her website and her business. She was working with Beyond Sight Media, who I had never worked with before, to create the website and film some video for her as well. So when planning the session, we all worked together to make it happen on the same day.
We met at a local preschool where Healthy Beginnings goes in to teach dental health lessons in the classroom. We set up, had some last minute conversations about the day, and then the hallway flooded with little ones excited to see visitors in their classroom.
One of the things I absolutely love about what I do is that my “office” could be a park, a boutique, someone’s home, or a classroom full of tiny smiling faces.
John with Beyond Sight Media was a gem to work with. He was kind, helpful, and really professional, so it felt easy to work together to get the shots we both needed. We easily worked around each other to get beautiful stills and videos to help Dana launch her website.
And the kids were fracking adorable.
