Self-Love Portraits evolving into Women’s Retreats

One of the benefits of attending one of my self-love retreats, is stepping in front of my camera for a self-love portrait session

In fact, my retreats were born from my Self-Love Portrait Sessions.

2025 Retreat Details

These were sessions I started offering in 2019, and found them to be life-changing for my clients. So life-changing, that I felt called by the universe to find a way to offer them to more than 1 woman at once. The first idea I had in my head was to host a photo event, which soon evolved into women’s retreat.

I wasn’t sure I could pull it off, so I leaned on my community. I called a friend who used to host retreats and asked to meet for coffee. I pitched her my idea, and she told me that I should absolutely plan a retreat and she would help me however she could. We started planning it right there over coffee.

Now, 5 years later, these retreats have evolved into a community and a movement. They’ve evolved into something bigger than I ever expected. And a part of that is these self-love portraits.

These sessions are more than just a picture. They’re a chance for these women to get poured into in a whole new way. To have another woman see them, truly, in all their beauty.

Because sometimes, all we need is to be seen.

It’s not vain to want to feel beautiful.

Our confidence falters every day as we watch television, see magazines, hear the things people say about women’s bodies. Comparison and self-judgement creeps in and these things are killers of confidence and joy.

We deserve to throw all of that to the wayside and feel like beautiful badasses.

Because that’s exactly what we are.

These portrait sessions are just that.

A chance for the women at the Self-Love Retreat to be that beautiful badass for a few minutes, and have a memory forever to remind them of who they really are.

Some women are nervous about it. Some women are all in right from the get-go. But each woman gains something valuable from it.

Like one attendee in 2023, who saw her pictures and realized that the things she thought she was struggling with internally were showing up in her outward appearance, prompting her to make some major changes in her life:

“Being able to see the internal struggle  poring out was a wake up call.”

Or the attendee in 2022 who had never had a good time during a photoshoot and was not excited about that part of the retreat:

“Getting my picture taken was actually a positive experience this time . I appreciated that Jamie made me feel so comfortable.”

And this is just the tip of the iceberg.

The mini self-love portrait sessions are a small portion of the benefits you get when you attend a self-love retreat. If you want to see ALL the benefits and register for this year’s event, check out the retreat page.
